THE 7 TRACK ALBUM FROM SCOTT NICOL

‘The arrangements orchestrated for each song are amazing with OUTSTANDING LYRICS AND exceptional vocals - the whole album is refreshing and beautiful’

It’s been a long time since I put out an Album!

Thankfully I have been kept very busy in music, staying passionate about writing and co-writing with other artists, gigging and having fun along the way.

I never really dreamed of putting out another L.P. but I recorded 7 songs which I thought would be acoustic demos.

I recorded with my friend and maestro Ian Matchet and even after the first day I thought they sounded better than I had hoped for, so a seed was planted. I called my friends Karen Henderson and Lorraine Handling to see if they would help. With Lorraine’s wonderful vocals, top class violin from Karen and Ian’s great playing on different instruments and mixing skills, I now have a 7 tack album called ‘Coffee’ available for download on all major platforms.

My friend Colin Hyslop filmed the videos for the title track ‘Coffee’ and ‘Modern Day Jane Eyre’ co-written with Callum Johnston, the latter feat Lyndsey Kate Smith. Again we had so much fun, it was amazing. We shot the ‘live’ footage part of the videos in ‘The Smoking Goat’, Ayr and I recruited my friends Darren Kelly and Brian Fleming to join us in ‘the band’ along with Ian Matchett, in  front of an enthusiastic audience of invited friends and family. I was also want to thank ‘The Ottoman Coffeehouse’, Glasgow for allowing us to shoot some scenes from the ‘Coffee’ video.

I am also excited that a few of my friends performed ‘cover’ versions of some songs from the album. Colin Hyslop filmed them and Brian Kyles edited the footage from the beautiful ‘Mcintyre’s Barberista’ in Prestwick, so I have plenty of promotion material. Ellie Anderson, Rona Bryden, Colin Hyslop and Debbie Campbell were all magnificent and brought some of their own uniqueness to the songs. Jamie Clark filmed his own brilliant version of ‘Swimming in regrets’. Catch them all on YouTube.

My good friend Darren Kelly #withintheblacklights shot the great artwork and promo pics. Thanks to Peter Anderson for putting my ‘Coffee’ page together here on my website and my nephew Rishaad Moudden for putting it all together for download.

I hope you love all this news, download, stream and enjoy the videos…

Catch me along the way somewhere and thanks again so much to everyone who made it all happen… I am in awe of you all.

Coffee LYRICS

1.
I’d love another talk with you over coffee
You always look so great
Like a movie star, framed in lights
Sweet perfume like diamonds in the night
Words of kindness drip from your tongue
The ways of the world just don’t belong in you
Don’t belong in you

2.
You are innocent and young
You always keep your head above the waters
Your hair is luminous and golden
Your strength is draped in gentleness

Chorus
I’d love another talk with you over coffee
I’d love another talk with you   x2
And put the world to rights,
and put the world to rights

3.
My friend it’s so great to laugh
About the good times, looking back
looking forward to the setting of the sun
We will sit down again together when it’s over and done
Dust to dust ashes to ashes
Hold my hand till the darkness passes away,
it’s never here to stay

Chorus

Bridge
Remember those times, just the two of us?
Talking like little children, with all the time in the world
Laughing, relaxing, so let’s do it again
Sometime soon, in the city or the town
When are you coming around??

Chorus
